A Thankful Bird

I spent my first Thanksgiving at Gramma Katie's house in the mountains of West Virginia. I had so much fun! I got to see Gramma Katie, Papa Ron, Uncle Ross, Aunt Jerri and Uncle Mark. Gramma Katie made me laugh a lot. I didn't eat any turkey, but I had some yummy carrots (my messiest meal EVER - check out the photo!). Everyone was thankful for me on Thanksgiving!

Birdie in the Box

This week I discovered a fun new plaything - an empty diaper box! Mommy was putting the diapers away and she noticed I was interested in the box, so she let me play with it. Then she thought it would be cute to put me inside the box, and boy was she right - just look at how cute I am sitting in there! Then she gave me a couple of toys and I played with them in the box. I had so much fun playing in this box, but then something went very wrong. I decided that it would be fun to chew on the box like I do with all of my playthings. Soon Mommy took me out of the box and it disappeared. I guess it's all fun and games until someone eats cardboard!

Playtime with Birdie

Check me out sitting up and playing with my toys. This is my favorite thing to do now. I like to just sit on the floor with all kinds of toys around me. I grab the toy that looks the most fun and taste it to see if it's the right one.

If it's good chewin' I keep it for awhile; if not I drop it like a bad habit and go for the next toy. I especially love toys with tags. Tags always make for a good chew!

Mommy and Daddy think this is the most amazing thing because not very long ago my favorite pastime was being held. I just wanted to be held all the time and I never liked to play on the floor for very long. Now I am very independent and I can amuse myself for such a long time!

Weekend Visitors

This weekend I got to see my Gramma Katie (known in the blogisphere as "Katigram") and Uncle Ross. They came all the way from West Virginia just to see me! Here I am with Uncle Ross playing with the soft kitty they brought for me. Gramma says I have lots of doggies so she thought I would like to have a kitty.

I love my Uncle Ross. He is a really great singer and guitar player. If you want to hear his music, visit him here. Uncle Ross has diabetes and he is very brave and strong. He is on dialysis and needs a new kidney, so if you know anyone who has an extra one they can give him, let me know.

Here I am trying to learn how to walk. I haven't quite started crawling yet, but this weekend I was thinking I might just go ahead and start walking. Gramma Katie told me that my mommy never crawled; she just started walking. So maybe I'll do that too! It was really fun to have Gramma and Uncle Ross here and I can't wait to visit them in West Virginia for our Mountain Thanksgiving in just a couple of weeks!
